March 3 — RHS (dependent on RHS Girls hosting Regional playoff game)
March 6 — RHS (dependent on RHS Boys hosting Regional playoff game)

April 29 — Drums & Dogs

We are also working on some other dates for the Storm and Roller Dolz in April, but those are not finalized yet.

Winterline Info Night — October 18, 2011

Mark your calendars for the Groove Winter Season information, registration, and audition signup night. Auditions are required for all groups except Genesis.

When: Tuesday October 18th.
Where: Oak Hills Baptist, 6201 South Lyncrest Avenue. (1 block west of 69th and Minnesota)
Time:
6:30pm — Genesis, Next Step, Cadets, & Slam
7:30pm — Impact & Pursuit

We have a lot of exciting news to share this year, including a monthly automatic payment plan for membership dues and travel expenses (for Impact and Pursuit), dedicated Impact and Pursuit rehearsal nights (Impact: Tuesdays 6-9 / Pursuit: Thursday 5:00-9:30), Pursuit competing in WGI finals in Dayton, and much more.

We are looking forward to seeing each of you again this year!!

Be sure to invite your fellow percussionist or budding percussionists!!!

Well, the voting is easier than the picking anyway. And this is for real; the winning submission will receive $50 off the upcoming GROOVE Winterline season!

Groove Inc. Presents its 10th Annual Drums & Dogs Spring Drumline Show

When: Sunday, April 10th

Where: Washington High School Gymnasium, 501 N. Sycamore Ave., Sioux Falls, SD

Time:
5:00pm “Dogs”: Enjoy a Hot Dog, Chips & Pop Meal
5:30pm “Drums”: Featuring high energy performances by the largest
youth drumline organization in the region.

How Much? Show admission only $5.00 (five & under are free)
There will be a free will offering for the “Dogs” meal

Groove is composed of six youth drumline performing groups whose participants range in age from Kindergarten to age 22:

Genesis (intro. to percussion for grades K-1)

Next Step (beginning percussion for grades K-4)

Cadets (beginners in grades 4–7)

Slam (experienced players grades 6 to 9)

Impact (experienced players in grades 7-11)

Pursuit (advanced players from grade 8 to age 22)

Other Groove groups:

Farsight (parents & adult former Groove members)

Summerline (members of all ages perform in area parades & events during the summer months.)

2011 Pancake Breakfast Is Coming Soon!

What: Pancake Breakfast & Silent Auction. Pancakes, sausages, eggs, coffee and juice.
Where: First United Methodist Church, corner of 12th Street and Spring Avenue (one block west of Minnesota Ave.)
When: January 22, 2011, serving from 9 am to noon.

Tickets are available from any of the Groove Inc. members (or their parents!) and at the door the day of the event.

As always, there will be lots of great things available for bidding in the Silent Auction. Bid high to get what you want! Auction items will be handed out starting at 12:30.

The drummers will be performing at various times throughout the morning:

Genesis — 9:15
Next Step — 9:45
Cadets — 10:15
Slam — 10:30
Next Step, Cadets & Slam combined — 10:45
Impact — 11:15
Farsight — 11:30
Pursuit — 11:45

Be sure to tell your relatives and friends about this great event, especially those with kids that might be interested in joining Groove Inc.!

Groove Snow Fort Contest — Now With Photos!

Time for Groove drummers to do some non-drumming stuff — Build a Snow Fort! When you’re done take some photos and email them & measurements to Pete for the Big Contest. Check back here later this week for the photos and chance to vote on your favorite! First place wins a FREE PIZZA!

Remember, send your photo AND measurements to Pete Hansen before the Wednesday, January 5 deadline!

Pete Hanson offers the first unofficial entry, and it’s a doozy! He says:

It’s in Pipestone behind Hanks Foods 6 blocks from my parents house. My brother Mark and his wife Peicha along with myself and Oscar and Maddy made it on fri and Sunday night. It’s took about 6 hrs.

Anybody surprised that the crazy guy wearing flip-flops is related to Pete?
