Pursuit WGI Performance

Accomplishments, Competition, News, Performances, Pursuit | April 30th, 2012

Here, at long last, is the video of the Pursuit drumline in the WGI World Championship competition in Dayton, OH, earlier this month. Enjoy!

And here is the note from Pete that was sent out following the performance:

Dear Groove Family,

As all of you may have heard our top Groove ensemble, Pursuit, has left home to compete in the World Drumline Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

We have had nothing but great weather, great kids, great parent help and a great staff. The show was a success and the kids did an amazing job all except for having some water spill. We received a score of 82.975.

After having seen a lot of really amazing groups we were all feeling down after not placing in the top 12 and not making finals.

However, after receiving our score sheets we found that the water had cost us a penalty of 6.4 points. After doing the math we realized that our score was the second highest in PIA class in the nation.

As we live our lives we learn that hard work pays off and you only get out what you put in. But sometimes you have to stomach some really hard circumstances. This is one of those times.

My hat is off to the kids, staff, parents, and board for all they did to make this a great year and as we continue to strive passionately for perfection. Let us remember. It’s not so much about what you do but how you do it. And this year was and will always be remembered as a huge success.
